To our philanthropic, corporate, and community partners,
We, the undersigned Tribal Nations, Tribal entities, and Native-led organizations, offer our support for the Hozhonigo Institute and its programs, including the Tribal Funding Registry (TFR).
Tribal Nations and Native-led organizations do not lack vision, leadership, or capacity. We work within a funding system that was not built for us. Opportunities are scattered across hundreds of agencies, foundations, and corporate programs. Mainstream grant tools are costly and do not reflect how Tribal governments operate. Recent disruption in federal funding has made these barriers more urgent.
The Hozhonigo Institute is building the infrastructure that lowers these barriers. Through TFR, our governments and organizations have free access to curated funding opportunities, live support from experienced grant professionals, and tools designed around Tribal governance and the language we use to describe our own work. The Institute is also developing the Tribal Project Capacity & Procurement Exchange and fiscal management support, so communities can put funding to work and steward it well.
We support this work because it is Native-led and accountable to the communities it serves. It respects our right to set our own priorities. It does not ask us to give up our data in exchange for access. And it remains free to the communities who need it most.
We encourage philanthropic, corporate, and community partners to invest in the Hozhonigo Institute and its programs, so these services stay free and continue to grow across Indian Country.
